Our Vision
OFRBC’s focus is Worship, the Word, and World Evangelism.
A New Leadership Team

Our new leadership team is excited to have the opportunity to minister for the Lord. We would love to have the privilege of ministering to you and your family. We have an exciting vision for the future of this ministry and we invite you to be a part of not only what we are currently doing, but what we will be doing in the future through God’s grace.
Our Mission
The central focus of OFRBC is the Word of God. The central theme of the Word of God is Christ. Our mission statement at OFRBC is: Magnifying JESUS through worship and the Word; Moving believers in JESUS toward maturity and ministry, and Making JESUS known to our neighbors and the nations.” The leaders of OFRBC are convinced that the only way to fulfill this mission is to seek to faithfully preach and live out the Word of God.
Worship
The first pillar in our missions statement is to Magnify JESUS through worship and the Word. In order to magnify JESUS through worship, we take great care and time in selecting both hymns and praise songs that convey biblical truth. We strive to balance the great hymns of Christianity with the great praise songs of Christianity. We recognize that God is focused on the heart of the worshiper, not the particular style or genre of music. But we strive to balance that with the fact that Jesus said we must worship Him both in “spirit and truth.” Therefore, we do take care and make sure that the words of the songs we sing are biblically accurate.
The Word
We also strive to magnify Jesus by preaching and teaching the Word of
God accurately. Our leadership believes that one of the greatest problems
facing Christianity today is the lack of care taken with the Word of God.
We believe in Biblical preaching that will both educate and challenge
Christians. Our goal is that when you leave OFRBC after the Sunday morning
sermon that you take at least two things with you from the sermon:
- an accurate understanding of what the text means, and
- a way to apply those truths to your life.
Maturing Believers
A second major emphasis of OFRBC is “moving believers in JESUS toward maturity and ministry.” This second pillar is built upon the first one. As believers worship God in “spirit and truth” and consistently hear and apply the Word of God to their lives they will begin to mature in their faith. As believers mature in their faith they can then effectively minister to others. Maturity and ministry go hand in hand. As one matures in their Christian faith, they can then minister; and as one ministers they will continue to mature in their Christian faith.
World-Wide Evangelism
A third emphasis of OFRBC is “Making JESUS known to our neighbors and the nations.” This pillar is built upon the first two. We believe that as believers mature and take and active part in ministry within the church, that they can then be better witnesses outside of the church. Jesus has mandated that believers take the saving message of Christ to their homes, their places of employment, their schools, and to the entire world.
In keeping with our mission, OFRBC is thrilled to have a Spanish speaking church, Iglesia de las Americas, meeting on our premises. Iglesia de las Americas holds their own 11:00 am worship service in Spanish. It is exciting to know on Sunday morning that while God is ministering to English speaking believers, He is at the same time ministering to Spanish speaking believers on the same premises! It serves as a microcosm of what Jesus is doing around the world in the hearts people of all nations.
How You Fit Into Our Vision
OFRBC is a church currently seeking to glorify the Lord in all it does, but yet with a vision towards the future. Our leadership is unified in the belief that the Word of God should be the main driving force for all that we do. If you are looking for a good, warm, friendly atmosphere, then OFRBC is for you. At OFRBC you will not be a number, but a vital member of the body of Christ. To that end, we believe very strongly that all church members should have a place where they can serve God and use their spiritual gifts and abilities.
Every Christian has been uniquely gifted by God. The Bible teaches us that God has gifted all Christians so that they can edify and encourage others. In keeping with this important biblical teaching, we strive to give people opportunities to use their gifts at OFRBC. We do not subscribe to the unbiblical mentality that you must “pay your dues” for a number of years before you can serve and use your God-given gifts. We recognize that the early New Testament church baptized new believers and went about training them to do ministry soon after conversion. Thus, part of our vision is to have a body of believers who are all active in the church by using their spiritual gifts.
We Major On People
While we desire to have good solid biblical programs for the whole family, we recognize that it is people not programs that make a church feel like a home. With this in mind, we are not program driven, but rather people driven. Having said that, we do have programs for the entire family.
Childrens Education
At OFRBC we believe that it is vital to raise children up in the knowledge of the Lord. As an educator in Christian Schools for many years, We are keenly aware of the importance of giving children a proper biblical foundation for their lives. While we want children to have fun and enjoy their time at church, we emphasize good solid biblical teaching.
Our children’s curriculum is built around solid biblical teaching. We also recognize that the parents are commissioned by God to raise their children in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord.” To that end, we do not try to usurp the parent’s role, but to come alongside the parents and aid them in this most important task.
We also have a “Tot Time” every Friday for toddlers. This is a three-hour time period every Friday (9:00 am to 12:00 pm), designed to give mothers a much-needed reprieve and children a chance for safe fun, fellowship, and biblical learning.
Womens Ministries
During the week, we have several activities taking place for women.
Whether you are single, a mother who works outside the home, or a mother
who works at home, we have something for you. We have both Bible and book
studies for women. There is a Tuesday morning Bible study for women at
10:00 am. You are welcome to bring your children with you. For those who
cannot make a Bible study at that time, there is a women’s Bible
study on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm. There are also various other opportunities
for the women of the church to fellowship throughout the year.
College Ministries
OFRBC also has a vibrant Bible-focused college Sunday School class at 9:30 am. While there is fun and fellowship to be had, the Bible is the focus. Many college students also meet weekly on Thursday nights at the church for a time of prayer, fellowship, and encouragement. Several outreaching events in the community and local colleges are planned throughout the year.
