Pastor Duncan Visiting October 21, 2007
Preaching
This Sunday we will be remembering God's providential care and blessing as we welcome former OFRBC Pastor Al Duncan back to the pulpit. Pastor Duncan will be preaching in the morning worship service, beginning at 10:45 am.
Reconnecting
We are inviting all who have attended Old Forest Road Baptist church in the past to come and join us in celebrating God's goodness to and through OFRBC. If you will be near the Lynchburg, Virginia, area on October 21, come and praise God with us. We'd love to see you again.
Singing
Hymns
The Church's One Foundation
Great Is Thy Faithfulness
To God Be the Glory
We will be praising God in corporate song. The hymns chosen for this Sunday are the hymns that were sung the day the OFRBC building was dedicated. These great hymns of the faith remind us of God's grandeur, providence, and faithfulness.
Two musicians will be presenting special music as well.
Remembering
We have gathered together many old photos, news clippings, and other items of historic interest. Slide shows and other presentations will remind us of the road OFRBC has traveled in the past.
Fellowshiping
After the morning worship service we will gather for fellowship and food (covered dish dinner) downstairs in the fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome. Food and drinks will be provided.
You are encouraged to share a special memory of the Duncans or early church years during the dinner.
Praising God
The theme of the day will be God's blessings and providential care down through the ages. It's wonderful to see God at work through OFRBC today and it is wonderful to remember that God has had his hand on OFRBC for more than half a century.
Come praise God with us this Sunday!
